Students go underground with ‘Wombot’

Blackwood High School students are working with University of Adelaide researcher Dr Bertram Ostendorf to develop a new vehicle for exploring wombat holes.

‘Wombot’ is capable of exploring underground warrens up to 30 metres long and branching in dozens of directions.

The research aims to better understand the three remaining wombat species in Australia.
