Role of a histone demethylase during seed development

grains in petri dish

This project in epigenetics and plant reproductive biology will examine the role of a histone demethylase (H3K9me2) during seed development.

Our recent data demonstrated that it is essential for development as seeds abort before maturity. The project will involve using chromatin IP and RNA-seq to characterise the histones that and genes in the mutant seeds.
