Interactions between microbes & plants

Plant research

Plants modify the soil microbial community in ways that may favour or hinder them. Invasive species may be able to obtain an advantage over native plants through this mechanism.

Research in this area can be particularly important to understand the success of invasive species and to increase our ability restore native vegetation.
