The effects of DNA damage and degradation on ancient human microbiomes

In humans, DNA degradation is tightly linked to the environment and time of degradation. Microorganisms are incredibly diverse, and the rates at which they decay are currently unknown.

This honours project will centre on examining different genomic rates of decay in different microbial populations over the past 50,000 years.

This study is also largely bioinformatics based.
