Virtual StatsPD@Waite meeting

Every month, the professional development meetings of statisticians and data scientists at Waite, known as StatsPD@Waite, bring together specialists in various aspects of data sciences in agriculture from Waite, Roseworthy and Adelaide.

Please join us for the next StatsPD@Waite meeting where Olena Kravchuk (University of Adelaide) and Omer Ozturk (Ohio State University) will present on judgment post-stratified sampling.

Please note that the StatsPD@Waite meetings are recorded. If you have a question to the speaker but would rather not be recorded, please send me your question via chat during the meeting and I will ask it on your behalf.

Please email Beata Sznajder for details of the Zoom meeting.

Judgment post-stratified assessment combining ranking information from multiple sources

Olena Kravchuk (University of Adelaide) and Omer Ozturk (Ohio State University)

In this talk, we present our recent development on the methodology of judgement post-stratified sampling. A new class of estimators is presented, which allows one to compare the post-stratification ranking information from multiple sources to improve the information content of a simple random sample about the population mean and total. The methodology is currently under review with the JABES, and can be of interest to practitioners in sampling situations, when a random sample is collected for laboratory investigations and auxiliary information is collected on a larger scale for the sample and other members of the population. We demonstrate the theory and illustrate it with field examples.
